LORD & TAYLOR PAIR Vintage RUSSET PARISIENNE LADY NESTING HAT BOX Set LARGE 14"

Description

Vintage HAT BOX Set Nesting pair featuring Watercolor-like images of High Society and Fashionable Victorian Women, with Huge hats, Fashion Magazines, or singing in a nightclub, among others.  One looks like she is wearing white ermine muffs scarf & hat, so sweet and so unusual.  This is done in what appears to be an unfinished painting, since there are many "pencil" lines like preliminary drawings.  But this is printed paper, and supposed to be like that     Paper-over cardboard.  Background color is hard to describe; sort of a light Russet, orangish-pink.   Each has a grosgrain ribbon carrying handle in a pinkish-russetish-orangish color.   LORD & TAYLOR logo is inside the lid of the smaller box.  Nice and LARGE and sturdy.   A Bit shabby, but really beautiful.
SIZE:   LARGEST is Approx  14" diameter and 7 " high,   smaller is 11 1/8" by 6 1/2".     All measurements  to the best of my ability to measure.   See photos for other dimensions.
CONDITION:    No breaks or crushes.  The edges are scuffed, and you can see mild scuffs  here and there is you look really hard.    On the side of the smaller box is "red straight"  penned on.  On the top of the larger box there are several  several numbers (see pix)  and on the side is penned "brown & white straw  rose straw).  Possibly some light stains, but it is hard to tell what is original and what is not.     These are VINTAGE, OLD USED and shows some wear.  .  NOT MINT CONDITION  but overall very  good.     Please look at all the pictures.
