PRICE reduced COLLECTIBLE-Anasazi CORN & HOLDER+ SANDAL TIE-prehistoric HISTORY

THIS IS A VERY RARE very OLD COLLECTIBLE-I have never even seen one in a museum or
anywhere..??
CORN MEASURES:  3 1/2"L X 1/2"W
HOLDER:  4 1/2"L X 3"W
TIE:  3"L X 1"W
I've
tried to figure out why the Anasazi would make such a piece...perhaps it was a corn
dryer?? setting fresh cobs on this and perhaps it wicked moisture from the kernals faster
so they could grind them into cornmeal and store??  No one seems to know, it's a mystery!
My late husband worked from the 1970's on the Hopi/Navajo Reservation and collected many
beautiful pieces of history.  He made many friends along his life journey & was given many gifts of
appreciation.  He loved the people and even learned to speak their language and  was shown
how to do beautiful beadwork.
The CLIFF DWELLERS (1200 AD) primary food source was beans, corn & squash which they
grew on the mesa tops.  The corn (maize) was not as we know it today...it was much smaller and
was actually a type of weedy plant.  IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY YOU CAN STILL SEE SOME OF
THE DRIED KERNALS in the cobs
I believe it was perhaps used in the BASKETMAKER PERIOD..it was a Corn Based Ariculture time
THIS IS WELL PRESERVED ARTIFACT  due to the Hot SW conditions, things did not
decay easily...
THIS HAS BEEN A COFFEE TABLE CONVERSATION PIECE IN OUR HOME FOR A LONG
