Royal Mail Line's ROYAL GEORGE of 1910 as a troopship (ex-HELIOPOLIS)

PLEASE NOTE:  Lots are NOT listed in any chronological order.
Port side view on a sepia-toned postcard of the Royal Line's (aka the Canadian Northern Railway) ROYAL GEORGE of 1910 at anchor and outfitted as a troopship.
The Royal Line would acquire both steamers (both originally built in 1907) in 1910 after the Egyptian Mail Line folded after a little over three years in operation, the ships being renamed ROYAL EDWARD (ex-CAIRO) and ROYAL GEORGE (ex-HELIOPOLIS).
Sadly, the First World War would claim the ROYAL EDWARD, being torpedoed while serving as a troopship in the Aegean Sea in 1915, with 935 souls going down with the ship.  The ROYAL GEORGE would be sold off to the Cunard Line in 1916 (and nicknamed "Rolling George"), finally going to the scrappers in 1922.
NOTE: We are also listing one lot of this ship in her original Egyptian Mail Line livery as HELIOPOLIS.
This lovely postcard is in excellent condition.
