INFORMATION ABOUT THE LETTERPRESS:
100 + year old Chandler & Price 8x12 Platen Press looking for a new home. This press was refurbished by me in 2008. It has been sanded, coated, various parts replaced. It has been used to print many wedding invitations and different types of stationery. This vintage press has been treated with care—well oiled, rollers and belt are still in good shape, always kept covered in an enclosed garage.
The press sits on a wooden palette which makes it easier for transport. This press is set up to be operated using the adjustable motor with switch, but I have a treadle hook (no foot pedal) that is unattached and never used. You can look up "treadle installation" online or even purchase a treadle kit / make a wooden pedal if you are wanting to operate with a foot pedal. I have never had to replace the motor since I’ve owned this press. The handle to adjust the motor speed is missing, but a make shift tool can be used as needed.
