Vintage Edwardian Painted Metal Hat Box

Description

This is a dome topped painted metal large hatbox circa 1900.
It is cold painted a dark red.
There are dents.
The bottom and inside has wear.
This could have been to hold a military hat or a ladies hat.
Country of origin unknown.
It is tin.
The  piece measures 116 1/4" long.
12 1/4" wide across the bottom.
13 1/2" from top to bottom.
I had wiped it with a wet paper towel and the water had not quite dried when I took the photos.
